Rana Drops Biggest Hint Yet on Baahubali 3; ‘Legacy Continues’ Tease Sets Internet Ablaze
Baahubali remains one of Indian cinema's most influential film series, transforming the scale of storytelling and creating the enduring world of Mahishmati
Rana Daggubati has sent Baahubali fans into a frenzy after dropping what appears to be the biggest hint yet about the much-awaited third installment of the iconic franchise.
The surprise comes in the closing moments of Netflix's documentary series Baahubali: The Torchbearer. In a fun interaction with the cast, Rana jokingly says, “The world may not be ready yet, but there will be Baahubali…” Before he can finish the sentence, Prabhas smiles and raises three fingers, prompting laughter from everyone present, including Anushka Shetty. The documentary then signs off with the words, “And the legacy continues!”
That brief exchange has sparked massive excitement on social media, with fans interpreting it as the clearest indication yet that Baahubali 3 is finally on the horizon. While the makers have stopped short of making an official announcement, the playful tease has only strengthened speculation surrounding the franchise's return.
Baahubali remains one of Indian cinema's most influential film series, transforming the scale of storytelling and creating the enduring world of Mahishmati. Beyond the two blockbuster films, the franchise has expanded through books, animated content and immersive experiences, but the possibility of a third film has always remained the biggest question among fans.
As of now, there is no clarity on when director SS Rajamouli will take up the project, how the story will unfold, or when an official announcement can be expected. However, if the documentary's closing moments are anything to go by, the journey back to Mahishmati appears closer than ever.
For now, Rana's unfinished sentence, Prabhas' three-finger gesture and the message "The legacy continues" have been enough to rekindle hopes that the epic saga is far from over.
