Jr NTR, who is celebrating his 43rd birthday, began his journey in cinema as a child artiste. He first appeared before the camera in Brahmarshi Viswamitra and later played the role of Lord Rama in Bala Ramayanam. Though he made his debut as a lead actor with Ninnu Choodalani, it was SS Rajamouli’s Student No.1 that brought him his first major success. He followed it up with blockbusters like Aadi and Simhadri, which established him as a bankable star at a very young age.
“His action films made him a huge star in his early twenties. Though he faced ups and downs, his hunger to grow as an actor kept him moving forward,” says a producer.
Over the years, NTR proved his versatility by taking on a variety of roles. Films like Rakhi, Yamadonga, Adhurs, Brindavanam, and Oosaravelli showcased his range as a performer. RRR, directed by SS Rajamouli, elevated NTR to global recognition, with audiences across the world praising his performance. The film’s song Naatu Naatu went on to win an Oscar. His recent film Devara, directed by Koratala Siva, reportedly crossed the Rs 500 crore mark and reaffirmed his box office strength. He also entered Bollywood with War 2, sharing screen space with Hrithik Roshan and Kiara Advani.
