In a surprising and refreshing turn, Kangana Ranaut has come out in strong support of Deepika Padukone amid the ongoing debate around work hours in Indian cinema.

Known for her outspoken nature and often controversial opinions, Kangana this time struck a supportive note while addressing the discussion on the eight-hour work culture. The debate intensified after Deepika reportedly stepped away from a couple of major projects due to her preference for fixed working hours.

Speaking about the issue, Kangana said that Deepika has every right to set her own professional boundaries. She emphasized that actors who have achieved a certain stature in the industry deserve the freedom to define their working conditions.

“Deepika Padukone has set her terms right. There should not be any issue as she has earned that place. She is a mother and has a daughter. Wanting to work for eight hours is completely fair,” Kangana said.

Recalling their past collaboration, Kangana revealed that both actresses had once pushed back against long working hours on set. “We were asked to work for 12 hours. I said I would do only 10, and she appreciated that. We always wanted success, but also balance,” she added.

Deepika has reportedly missed out on high-profile films like the sequel to Kalki 2898 AD and Spirit due to her work conditions. However, she continues to remain one of the most sought-after stars and is now said to be part of a big-ticket project alongside Allu Arjun, tentatively titled “Raaka,” which is expected to further boost her stardom.

Kangana’s support has added a new dimension to the conversation, highlighting the importance of work-life balance in an industry traditionally known for demanding schedules.
