His divorce case with estranged wife Aarti is still pending in court and has remained in the public spotlight in recent months.
Starring Manchu Manoj in the lead, Vaddi Kaasula Vaada is billed as a quirky entertainer set against a middle-class backdrop with a generous dose of humour. If the talks materialise, Jayam Ravi's portrayal of Lord Venkateswara is expected to be one of the film's biggest attractions.
The announcement video hints at several humorous interactions between the deity and the protagonist, suggesting that the divine character plays a significant role in the narrative. However, a source close to the development says, "Discussions are underway and things are expected to be finalised shortly."
The film is written and directed by Tej Uppalapati and is being produced by Ramabrahmam Sunkara under the AK Entertainments banner. Kishore Garikipati (GK),
If Jayam Ravi signs on the dotted line, it will mark an interesting crossover into Telugu cinema and a rare opportunity to portray one of the most revered deities on screen. Telugu cinema has a rich tradition of such portrayals, with legendary N.T. Rama Rao immortalised Lord Venkateswara in Sri Venkateswara Mahatyam, while actor Suman earned acclaim for playing the deity in K. Raghavendra Rao's devotional classic Annamayya.
Should the deal materialise, Vaddi Kasula Vaada could mark a significant professional milestone for Jayam Ravi.
