Megastar Chiranjeevi paid his last respects to the mortal remains of renowned actor and producer G.V. Narayana Rao. Chiranjeevi attended the final rites held at Mahaprasthanam in Jubilee Hills and recalled his close association and cherished memories with Narayana Rao.

Speaking on the occasion, Chiranjeevi said: “I have known Narayana Rao since my days at the Film Institute. He was already a senior there when we were undergoing training. He would often come and share his experiences with us, and that is how we grew close.

As both of us established ourselves in the film industry and I attained a star image, he told me that he wanted to become a producer and asked me to work in his films. I subsequently acted in two films produced by him. I also ensured that he got opportunities to act in some of my films. That is how our association continued over the years.

Coincidentally, about ten days ago, he called me and said, ‘I have made a film. It is inspired by Manchu Pallaki and explores what five young men would be like when they grow older. We are planning to launch the trailer, and it would be great if you could extend your support.’

I immediately told him that I would definitely be there. At that moment, he asked me to join him for a photograph, saying that we should take one together. Perhaps that was his final film. We spoke for quite some time that day. I told him to take good care of his health and wished him all the best.

But I never imagined that those words would turn into a permanent goodbye.

Wherever he may be, I pray that Narayana Rao’s soul rests in peace. His family members are like my own family, and I extend my deepest condolences to them during this difficult time.”
