Bhairavam Opens To Poor Collections In Telugu States?

The much-hyped "Bhairavam" didn't set box office on fire and just managed meagre collections on first day. "The film just garnered Rs. 2. 75 gross collections in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana and surely it's a bad start, says a leading distributor and adds, "The film budget is more than 30 cores and the action adventure has to pick up faster in next few days."

This film is remake of Tamil film Garudan and it was a box office winner in Tamil Nadu. "Tamil movie Garudan surprise element was comedian turned hero Suri whose innocence and turnaround helped the rustic drama to impress viewers, while casting in Telugu wasn't perfect, he informs.
Nonetheless, the Telugu movie has to garner more collections since it was made with a huge budget, unlike Tamil original. "Telugu filmmakers spend 4 to 5 times on the original budget without realising the potential of village centric emotional drama with a mystical touch, he concludes.
