Akkineni Nageswara Rao, Nagarjuna and grandson Naga Chaitanya

Manam was the last film of the late Akkineni Nageswara Rao and it included his son Nagarjuna and grandson Naga Chaitanya. Vikram Kumar had cleverly conceived the screenplay-based film to suit the Akkineni family.

Now, according to a source close to the Akkineni family, Vikram has narrated a story to Nagarjuna that will have roles for his sons Chaitanya and Akhil Akkineni.

“Vikram has been regularly meeting Nagarjuna and on one occasion he narrated a story to suit him and his sons. Nagarjuna asked him to develop it and come with a full narration,” says the source.

The film will have other actors from the Akkineni family too. Sumanth and Sushanth are also playing key roles in Manam 2, the source adds.

However, though they plan to use the same title, Manam 2 isn’t a continuation of the first movie, it is a different story, the source clarifies.
