Indian cinema, especially Bollywood, is like Brazilian football the international fan favourite. But trophies such as the golden statuette presented at Hollywood's Dolby Theatre don't come for song and dance alone. Like the Sele§£o know they can't win the World Cup only with samba and capoeira.

VIJAYAWADA: Andhra Pradesh Film Chamber of Commerce (APFCC) and AP Movie Artists Association, in collaboration with Madhu Film Studios, will organise a three-day competition in short films starting February 10 to unearth talent in the two Telugu states of AP and Telangana.

APFCC president Ambati Madhu Mohan Krishna pointed out on Friday that today's youth are skilled in using their talent and have been producing short films. A Short Film Contest is thus being organised as a platform for youth to showcase their talents, skills, and techniques.

The film chamber president announced ₹50,000 as the first prize, ₹30,000 as the second, and ₹20,000 as the third prize. ₹5,000 each will be given to the best director, best cameraman, best music director, best actor, and best actress.

February 5 is the last date for participants to register their entries for the contest. They may contact helpline numbers 9848295555 and 9291193333 for details.

Bigg Boss contestant and Black Star Salman Shani has called upon enthusiasts to take advantage of this opportunity and showcase their hidden talents.
