While buzz around the collaboration of this uncle-nephew combination has been around for a long time now, it looks like actors Venkatesh and Rana Daggubati are finally set to team up for a web series that was earlier announced as a film, Asphota – The Human Bomb, based on the events surrounding Rajiv Gandhi’s assassination.

“After elaborate discussions, director A.M.R. Ramesh and Rana felt that the story wouldn’t benefit from being made as a film. With a need for larger screen time, they decided to make it into a web series instead,” shares a source, adding that the series will be called LTTE.

Interestingly, Rana had met former CBI chief, D.R. Karthikeyan, in Hyderabad earlier when the film was announced. The source informs that the team is trying to convince Venkatesh to play the role, which Rana was to play earlier.

“Venkatesh has got a body language that makes him very apt for cop roles. The team  feels he’d be able to bring in the seriousness required for the series. However, the actor is unsure if it is the right move to venture onto the web platform,” reveals the source, adding that Rana will also be playing a very crucial role.
