Kannada star Upendra to share screen with Varun Tej
The impact of the role convinced the actor to come on board
Kannada actor Upendra, who has made a name for himself in Tollywood with films like A, Kanyadaanam, S/o Sathyamurthy, etc., has been roped in for an important role in an upcoming film starring Varun Tej.
Producers Allu Venkatesh and Sidhu Mudda felt Upendra’s screen presence would bring credibility and further elevate the role, which is a powerful and impactful one. No details about the role are being divulged.
According to a source, “The filmmakers were keen to cast someone who has a strong screen presence. They felt Upendra’s casting will be fresh, and at the same time, appropriate. When they approached the actor, he readily agreed to do the part because of the impact it creates in the narrative.”
The actor will join the sets of the film after normality is restored. Saiee Manjrekar plays the leading lady in the movie, which has wrapped up one schedule of shooting in Vizag in March.
