Balakrishna, who was all set to start shooting for NTR, his father’s biopic, got a big jolt with director Teja opting out of the project.  According to a source, Teja felt that he couldn’t handle such a big project or do justice to it. The film was officially launched on May 29 at Ramakrishna Cine Studios, Hyderabad, in a big way with Vice-President M. Venkaiah Naidu as the chief guest.

Interestingly, at that time, the director had called it ‘a once in a lifetime opportunity’, but now, he claims that he can’t handle it. Only a few days ago at Chilakaluripeta, Balakrishna had announced that the shooting of the film would commence in May. Some sources say that the working style of Teja does not match with Balakrishna or the makers.

Meanwhile, Hindi actress Vidya Balan is confirmed to play NTR’s wife Basavatarakam and has allotted her dates in July and August. Now, the makers are searching for a new director in place of Teja.

“They may approach senior director K. Raghavendra Rao to direct the film while the other option is Balakrishna himself,” adds the source. Both Teja and the producers did not respond to phone calls on the issue.
