After a three-year break, actress Pooja Hegde is back in Tollywood with Harish Shankar’s Duvvada Jagannatham, which hit theatres on Friday. “I am very happy that everyone is really liking the movie and me in it,” says Pooja, adding that she wanted to do something new in her comeback film.

“After Mukunda, I got many offers, but I had committed my time to the Hindi film Mohenjo Daro. Even Harish had first approached me for Subramanyam For Sale, but I told him that I have to complete my Hindi film,” reveals Pooja.

The 26-year-old actress says that she has always been keen to do Telugu films because of the work culture and the people.

“My first two films were traditional ones, so I wanted something new as compared to them. Then Harish narrated the story of this film; he said that it was a glamorous role. I also wanted to work with Allu Arjun since a long time — so everything came together with this film,” says Pooja.

The actress feels that she learnt a lot with this film. “The atmosphere was always jovial… not a single dull moment. Allu Arjun is a generous actor and always gives tips in dance and acting. I genuinely feel DJ made me a better actor,” adds Pooja.
