Salaar First Day Collection Prediction

After drawing sensational opening day collections of over Rs 61 crores in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana states, action film ‘Salaar’ (Chapter 1: Ceasefire) starring Prabhas and Prithviraj has reportedly witnessed a dip in collections on Day 2. “It has managed to garner Rs 38 crore net collections on second day since footfalls at theatres have a dropped a bit,” says a leading distributor who claims that the film has the advantage of Sunday and Monday holidays, “It should pick up during these two days and turn out into a sensational hit because even advance bookings have slowed down from Saturday,” he adds

No doubt, the film was screened in over 600-theatres and rode on multiple shows in single and multiplex theatres but word-of-mouth publicity is not reflecting in box office collections. “People’s response for the film has been mixed in Telugu states. While Prabhas fans are hailing the film as a great entertainer, while few audience are finding loopholes in the screenplay and also lengthy run time added to audience woes,” he points out.

Prabhas fans are in big numbers in East and West Godavari districts along with Vijayawada and Vizag to give the film an edge in collections in Andhra Pradesh over Telangana. Nonetheless, fans are thronging theatres to watch their favourite hero in slam-bang action episodes, he points out.

After not-so-impressive collections for ‘Radhe Shyam’ and ‘Adipurush," Prabhas regained his crowd pulling prowess with ‘Salaar’ but distributors are expecting a drop in collections from Monday  “The film has to overcome Monday's test and then has to attract repeat audiences to turn into a record-breaking hit,” he concludes.
