\'Negative\' creates a positive impact

Independent filmmaker Bala Satish’s film,\' Negative\', is hitting the news for all the right reasons

Bala Satish, a Hyderabad-based filmmaker, is coming up with his debut independent film. Titled Negative, the film has been garnering rave reviews and has been sent to several film festivals.

“Due to Covid-19 the world has come to a standstill in the last two years.  As a result, the word Negative has become the most positive word in people’s lives. Since the word had created a lot of impact I decided to title my film so,” says a confident Bala Satish, adding that the film’s title too is apt for the content
Storytelling has always been his passion, and in many ways, it is his strength too, he points out.

An independent filmmaker, Bala Satish who is on his to make his directorial debut, earlier directed short films and also worked as Script Assistant for Tamil-Telugu dubbed films.

He believes engaging stories come from real life experiences. ‘I look for stories on contemporary issues to make it relatable for greater connect. Films are a reflection of the times we live in and my films will show exactly that,” he says.
Negative was a nominee in the Brazil International Monthly Film Festival, finalist in the prestigious Prague International Film Awards and Kosice International Film Festival, and semi-finalist in the European Cinematography Awards.

The film has been appreciated for its cinematic brilliance, including cinematography, color, sound designing and visual storytelling. “I am elated by the critical acclaim the film has been receiving. I am glad that I have achieving that in an independent film with limited resources,” he reflects exuding that he would soon make a feature film with highest standards.
