VOZ, an enriching experience: Ram
Actor Ram talks about working on Vunnadhi Okate Zindagi (VOZ) and how travelling has shaped hispersonality.
Ahead of his Friday release Vunnadhi Okate Zindagi (VOZ), directed by Kishore Tirumala, Ram says that he’s satisfied as an actor. “I have experienced situations where I am either super confident that the film will do well or not, but this is a new experience where I am content with what I have done. Success would just be a bonus for me,” he reveals, adding, “The film has been an enriching experience. The very next day after I wrapped it up, I started missing my character Abhi.”
Ram adds that the romantic entertainer showcases the different phases of life of the protagonist – childhood, college days and as a mature person. “The film talks about love and friendship,” he says.
Justifying the gaps he was taking after every film, the actor says, “I took a gap after Hyper because nothing excited me.” He adds, “The film gave me a new perspective such that I don’t remember the effort that went into my role. I have decided to be genuine for this role. Be it laughter, humor, crying, playing guitar (I went for guitar classes) – everything has to be authentic,” shares the actor.
Ram, who loves globetrotting, says that travelling has shaped his personality. “It widens your thought process. As a kid, I was very disciplined. And for my first film (Devdas), my shooting schedule to the US was cancelled seven times; even worse was the fact that I packed my bags one month in advance! But now I travel on impulse,” he reveals, sharing, “I travelled to several countries with an empty suitcase. Travelling has transformed me into a better individual. Also, when you travel abroad alone, you get to know the ground realities.”
The actor has gone for a slight makeover for his role and shopped for his costumes in Dubai. “I keep abreast with the changing fashion trends. So in my films I follow a mix of Indian and international styling,” he explains, adding, “In my wardrobe, you’ll find clothes in all different sizes (laughs). I buy new clothes, and suddenly I have to either put on weight or come down for a role.”
