One wonders why press meets are held at all because after the elaborate arrangements and PRs hounding the media to cover it, the actors of the film behave like they are doing everyone a big favour!

The team of Tamil film VIP 2 visited Hyderabad on Saturday to promote their comedy-drama film which will see a Telugu release as well. Dhanush, Soundarya Rajinikanth, who has directed the film, and Kajol, were present at the media conference and all they did was praise each other, and talk in monologues.

Kajol started off first, saying, “I love Hyderabad and I have been here so many times in the past. It’s always been a wonderful experience and I am having a great time so far. I love Hyderabadis.” She also praised Dhanush for making her feel so comfortable after she agreed to make a comeback in the South. “Both Soundarya and Dhanush made me comfortable as I did a film in another language after so many years. Dhanush sir is amazing and organised everything so beautifully —he made my stay and work so comfortable,” added the 42-year-old actress.

Now came Dhanush’s turn. VIP 2 would be his first Telugu film. “For the first time, I am coming up with a Telugu film which is a sequel to Raghuvaran BTech. It was a very beautiful experience to be speaking in Telugu and I’ve also learnt a lot of new words. Hoping to do more such work in Telugu,” the actor said.

Since the first film did well here, Dhanush has decided to release the sequel in Telugu on the same date as the release of the Tamil film. “This film also maintains the same essence as the first one,” he added, hoping that VIP 2 would also perform well.

Then came Soundarya, who praised Kajol at the meet and said, “You look beautiful today, you always look so beautiful.” She then thanked Dhanush and Kajol for being a part of her film.

Interestingly, during such events most stars promise to give the media some time for  one-on-one interactions. But that was not the case at this press meet. The actors snubbed all questions pertaining to anything other than the film. When a TV reporter asked about the drug scandal that has exposed the film industry, and Suchi leaks where Dhanush was one of the accused, the actor reacted and said: “It’s a stupid interview!” and left the show after throwing the mic away.
