Nivetha Pethuraj’s career may be running on max, but in real life, she is someone who practices minimalism — and has been doing so for quite some time. “I believe in sustainable living and I have begun to turn towards a minimalistic lifestyle and thinking pattern, which is evident in my daily life — be it in shopping, food, colour choices, etc.,” she explains.
“Over the years, personally, when I buy clothes, mostly my colour choices are simple — black, white or grey as I don’t use other colours. Also, I don’t buy more than three pieces each, so it becomes easy for me to choose as well.”
Incidentally, she’s also trying to eliminate white sugar, replacing it with organic honey instead. She has also been using a lot of handmade products; products that can be recycled and environment-friendly.
“Food-wise too, I have shifted towards being a vegetarian,” Nivetha points out, adding that she had been witnessing a great change in her personality in the process of minimalism.
“I’m a lot more optimistic and my energy levels are different today. The transition has given me a sense of peace and serenity and I am more balanced, while earlier, I used to be a bit apprehensive. I take a cold water shower and also recommend frequencies (listening to music). It acts on your body and senses and gives you positive vibes.”
Nivetha, who’s also an adventurous junkie and racer, indulges in car racing, go-karting, etc. “Basically, I go wherever life takes me because you always need to find fire in life to keep it going,” the Ala Vaikuntapuramulo actress shares, adding that she has achieved much in her six years of film journey. “Getting to work with different people made me understand diverse cultures and more about life. Showbiz has made me a better person than I was.”
