Leading director Trivikram Srinivas, who loves to work with superstars like Pawan Kalyan, Mahesh Babu, Allu Arjun and NTR Jr, is now doing a mythological film ‘Hiranyakashyap’ with Rana Daggubati, who is not among hits these days.

In fact, Trivikram is one of the few directors, who believes in keeping his ratings high, has surprisingly chosen to tread a new path. “Trivikram who directed young actor Tarun at the beginning of his career didn’t do any film with him again after moving into bigger league with hits like ‘Athadu’ and ‘Jalsa,” says a source.

On the other hand, Rana who impressed the audience with his riveting performances in films like ‘Baahubali’ and ‘Bheemla Nayak’ and also proved his crowd pulling prowess with another film ‘Nene Raju Nene Mantri’. However, his subsequent movies like ‘Virata Parvam’ and “Kaadan’ tanked at the box office and dented his ratings a bit. “Rana surely needs a big hit, so he teamed up with successful director Trivikram to bounce back into the reckoning by playing a larger-than-life role of demon king,” he adds.

Whereas, Trivikram didn’t mind the dipping success graph of Rana and announced the film ‘Hiranya…’. Probably, he wants to take a break from his star-studded family dramas like ‘Atharintiki Daaredi’ and ‘Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo’ and dish out an extravagant and visually-pleasing mythological saga.
