There are three songs in the film, all of which are very short and crisp and under two minutes. Moreover, each number is situational, not only telling a story but also undeviating from the plotline, says Subbu justifying his move.

Songs are generally a strict no-no in intense-thrillers. However, debutant filmmaker Subbu Vedula seems to have decided to break that norm. We hear he has come up with the idea of songs for his forthcoming thriller Raahu, which belongs to the ‘house invasion genre’.

“There are three songs in the film, all of which are very short and crisp and under two minutes. Moreover, each number is situational, not only telling a story but also undeviating from the plotline,” says Subbu justifying his move.

Interestingly, the debutant is also the lyricist for the film, another of his firsts. At the success event of the film’s music, Subbu adds, “I have my own sensibilities in music and have penned two songs Entha chooda chakkanidey and Idi oka grahanam. In a bid to bring back the tunes of Ilayaraja and A.R. Rahman’s renditions, composer Praveen Lakkaraju and I have tried several tunes.”

Raahu, starring Kriti Garg and Aberaam Varma, will release on February 28.
