Having tried his hand at several youthful entertainers, Aadi Pudipeddi is now moving on to a crossover film, Operation Gold Fish (OGF), which is releasing today. The Saikiran-Adivi directorial is about Kashmiri Pandits and what happened to them in the 1990s.

Unsurprisingly, the film’s plotline has gained much curious chatter after present government revoked Article 370. “We’ve been working on this script for over two years, and the timing of the revoking of Article 370 was a pure coincidence. This film is about how Kashmiri Pandits were affected, but we never wanted to cash in on the announcement,” explains Aadi.

In the film, Aadi plays Arjun Pandit, an NSG Commando, and for his part, the actor had to go for a complete makeover.

“I spent two months at the NSG campus in Delhi, interacting with the personnel. I even trained in kick boxing and got a crew cut to look authentic for my role. Ï experienced the life of NSG officers and how they carry themselves during an operation,” explains Aadi, adding that these experiences led to completely changing his perceptions towards the NSG commandos.

“Being the saviour of the country is always a proud feeling, and to do it constantly while making a lot of sacrifices is absolutely unimaginable,” says Aadi. The trailer of the film, which unfolds a beautiful love story amid the patriotic spirit, has been receiving good response.
