Sumanth Ashwin, who has thus far played the boy-next-door and college-going roles, says that his forthcoming film, Happy Wedding, will be high on emotions.
Talking about his role in the romantic entertainer, Sumanth shares, “I play the role of a groom-to-be in the film, and all the events occur in the three months before the wedding. The role is very new to me and since there are several scenes where I and my bride-to-be (played by Niharika Konidela) share candid moments, the film looks realistic.”

Sumanth states that the movie has given him an opportunity to explore new territory as an actor. “The emotional quotient of the bride and groom during the time of marriage has also been finely captured,” he adds.

The actor is confident that the audience will accept him in this new role. “The film’s director Lakshman Karya has dealt with the subject refreshingly. I had to shed a few inhibitions to look the part — look-wise and in terms of body language. But I am sure the film will strike a chord with the audience,” says Sumanth, adding that he’s quite happy with his career graph.

“I’m happy with the way my career has shaped up so far. There have been highs and lows, but I have always been learning with each of my films and I am fortunate to get interesting roles,” he signs off.
