The Telugu film Jersey, starring Nani, is going to be remade in Hindi. And though it was earlier reported that Karan Johar was all set to remake the film, we now learn that he shall not.

According to our sources, Telugu producers Allu Aravind, Dil Raju  and Naga Vamsi have bought the rights of the film, and wanted to bankroll it.

“Karan Johar had initially approached but offered a very small price, something the producer didn’t agree on. Karan also told that he wanted to produce the Hindi remake on his own, without any other Telugu producer. That was the other reason Naga Vamsi (who originally produced Jersey)  declined to give the remake rights to Karan,” added the source. Now, with Allu Aravind and Dil Raju deciding to join hands to redo Jersey in Hindi, the search is on for the lead actor. “Shahid Kapoor seems like a right choice, but they are also looking at some other options,” added the source. Allu Aravind, the producer of Ghajini with Aamir Khan, is known to have good contacts in Hindi.
