Tamil hit film 96 starring Vijay Sethupathi and Trisha is all set to be remade in Telugu by popular producer Dil Raju, who recently announced the project with Sharwanand and Samantha as the lead pair.  C. Prem Kumar, who directed the original Tamil film, will direct the Telugu remake too, but a source informs that differences have already cropped up between him and the producer.

“The director wants to rope in music director Govind Vasantha who gave music for the Tamil version, but Dil Raju is opposed to it. He has instead suggested a top music director’s name which Govind is not agreeing to,” says the source.  The producer is also suggesting a few changes to suit the Telugu audience which the director is against. “The director (Prem Kumar) wants the remake to be exactly like the original version and doesn’t want to change anything,” adds the source. Meanwhile, Sharwanand is presently shooting in Spain with director Sudheer Varma.
