Srikanth

Actor Srikanth is currently playing the role of K. Chandrasekhara Rao, the founder of Telangana Rashtra Samithi and the Chief Minister of Telangana State. The film is titled Telangana Devudu and is being directed by the debutant Harish.

As reported earlier, the film’s story is about KCR’s life and the makers have even met people of the TRS prior to starting the film. Now, according to a source, the TRS is supposedly funding the film, though it is produced by somebody else. “Recently, the TRS members met the director and Srikanth, and inquired when the film would be completed. They want to release the film before the elections, so that it may help the party,” says a source.

The actor has already mentioned that the film focuses on KCR’s life and how he started the Telangana movement and went on to become the chief minister. Interestingly, though Srikanth is playing KCR’s role, they haven’t used his name for his character.

“The original names are not used because the election commission may object if it releases at the time of elections,” says a source.
