Renowned Tollywood actress Pragathi Mahavadi, who is usually seen playing the roles of a mother or an aunt to a hero or heroine, is suddenly viral; thanks to her latest video where she is seen having a blast doing a version of the lungi dance to the tunes of Vaathi coming from Tamil star Vijay’s film, 'Master'.

The video that she uploaded on her Instagram handle, in which she is seen making swift dance moves with her teenage son, Manish (21), has taken the Internet by storm.

Of course, besides audiences, the video has apparently left many a filmmaker stunned too. “Ï never thought that the video would go viral,” exclaims Pragathi, who also revealed that she’d rehearsed for 15 minutes before going for the take.
Adding that the dance video was just a random attempt to beat the boredom of the lockdown, Pragathi tells us that she keeps performing while at home.

“But I thought this video was something that can be uploaded,” says Pragathi who also shares that she had a lot of time in Chennai.

“So also, I love the desi ‘mass’ energetic numbers that generate a lot of fizz and I cannot resist grooving when I hear them.”

The actress then tells us that she is a fitness freak who besides frequently indulging in dance likes to do adventurous things such as riding a bullet.

“I look forward to working out daily, too, because it brings out the best in me, which is why I thought that grooving to a mass number will be a perfect Monday motivation,” adds the actress with a chuckle.

So, the actress who has yet been ‘hidden’ to filmmakers given the traditional homely roles she has been typecast in might even crack a mould here because of how the video showcases her crystal-clear dance moves.

“I am hoping that next filmmakers will give me roles where I can dance,” she says laughs.
Incidentally, the video has also brought in focus the bonding she shares with her family.

“People have been saying that we are giving ‘mother-son fitness goals’,” she laughs, adding, “The lockdown gave me the opportunity to bond big time with my family. It has reunited us as a group and ensured that we stay together during tough times.”
