After her glamorous portrayal as a police officer in her previous film, Silly Fellows, actress Chitra Shukla will next be seen playing actor Vishwanath’s love interest in the upcoming Kalyanji Gogana directorial Kadhal, a romantic entertainer. “I was hooked to the film’s plotline the very instant I heard the script. Besides, I find my portrayal in the film to be very contemporary and relatable, so I’m quite excited about this one,” the actress revealed. Talking about her role, Chitra said, “The film is a love story set in the early 2000s. I play a college student who is pursuing a Master’s degree in Business Administration. And while I’ve played glamorous role in my previous films, this one’s going to be more traditional with me in outfits like churidaar and salwar kameez.”

The film’s first schedule was shot in Kakinada, and the actress had a blast while shooting for the film.

“Shooting in a college took me back to my own college days. We’d mass bunk lectures, indulge in extra-curricular activities, tease the juniors, etc. Additionally, my dialogues in the film have been written very colloquial to appeal to the youth, thereby making the whole affair quite an interesting learning experience,” shares the Rangula Ratnam actress who recently celebrated her birthday.
