With back-to-back releases in 2015 — Temper, Baahubali, Kick 2, Sher, Loafer and Oopiri — Nora Fatehi was the girl in demand. Her special songs in the films were much talked about and she became a name to reckon with. However, the actress hasn’t appeared in any Telugu film in a while and apparently, it’s a conscious move from her.

“The songs led into my eventual participation in Bigg Boss and Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa which gave me great exposure and I am glad all the films happened. But when I  was signing these films, I looked at them as opportunities to showcase my talent and let people know that I can express, along with being able to dance. I am an actor before being a dancer and I crave for a chance to show that,” she says.

Though several films have been coming her way, Nora’s decided to wait for something interesting. “I love the sensibility of South Indian filmmakers and that’s the reason I am keen to explore roles here. I know I can do a lot more than just dance and that’s why I decided to wait for the right role. I need the chance to prove my worth. In fact, I don’t have inhibitions in terms of the scale of the film if the role is a good one,” she reasons.

And Nora is well aware that she’s been stereotyped due to her special appearances. “It‘s unfortunate that one gets stereotyped and is slotted into a certain mould. But guess what, this is 2017, and I think stereotypes can easily be broken!” she says, with an air of confidence.
