Sukumar in mourning

Director Sukumar is still reeling from the loss of his dear friend and manager Prasad, who passed away unexpectedly a few days ago.

“The two of them worked together as lecturers. When Sukumar entered the film world, Prasad came to Hyderabad with him, and from that time, has been looking after everything for him” says a source close to the director.

Prasad’s passing came as a shock and Sukumar is yet to recover from it. He hasn’t been able to meet his friend’s family and share their grief either, because of the quarantine situation, the source said. He is at home, trying to come to terms with the loss.

Shooting for Sukumar’s film 'Pushpa', starring Allu Arjun, was to have started a while back, but it had to be postponed due to the lockdown.

“Allu Arjun called Sukumar several times to sympathise with him about his friend’s loss and to try and motivate the director to get back to normal” added the source.
