The coming Valentine’s Day is special for actress Rakul Preet Singh as her movie Dev is releasing on that day.

“Yes, my film is releasing and for the first time, I will be watching my film with my parents first day, first show,” says the actress, adding, “They are coming on February 13 and I am really excited to watch it with them.”

The actress states that she doesn’t believe in Valentine’s Day. “I never believed in Valentine’s Day as it’s a Western concept. Commercially, it is very good because people go shopping, but the real meaning of love is not that. Every day should be celebrated with love and it should be for the entire year, not just one day. It could be love between children and parents too and I am happy that I will be with my parents on that day,” the Aiyaary star adds.

While the actress did not have any releases in 2018, many of her films are releasing this year. “I have done 16 films in four years and shot for many of my films last year. I am busy with Tamil and Hindi films too. I got some really good scripts and shot along with the lead actors. All the films are in contrast to each other and performance-oriented,” shares Rakul, who plays an independent girl named Meghana in her upcoming film.

Describing her character, Rakul says, “She is a feminist kind of woman who only does her work and has no time for love.” So is she a feminist in real life too? “A feminist does not mean that she hates men. She fights for equal rights for women,” explains the actress, adding, “Some people misunderstand that feminist means anti-men, when in fact, they are only fighting for women’s rights that they deserve.”

The actress confesses to being an adventure junkie in real life. “I am an adventurous girl. Recently, I did sky diving in Dubai. I sent the video to my parents afterwards and while my father was happy as he is an Army person, my mother was not,” she shares.

As for the recent Twitter controversy, Rakul says, “I did it and forgot about it. How can a person write like that? I got so much support from the people. Later, the Twitter admin informed me that they blocked his account because of which many other girls were saved.”
