Tollywood artiste arrested for duping woman
The police said that Prasad and the woman were in a relationship from the past five years.
Hyderabad: The Banjara Hills police arrested a Tollywood character artiste, Venkat Prasad, for cheating a woman with whom he was allegedly in a relationship. Venkat Prasad had refused to marry the victim, 35, with whom he was allegedly in a relationship. The police said that Prasad and the woman were in a relationship from the past five years. He had also promised to marry her. The woman was forced to lodge a complaint after he began to avoid her from the past few months.
“When the victim asked Prasad to marry her, he refused and threatened to kill her and her family. The victim also in her complaint mentioned that Prasad was planning to getting married to some other woman,” Banjara Hills inspector, K. Srinivas said. According to police, Venkat is a programming manager in a private movie theatre. Based on the victim’s complaint, Prasad was arrested and sent to remand on Thursday. Prasad reportedly did a brief role as Prabha’s (Shivudu) father in the blockbuster movie Bahuballi.
