The makers of Nagarjuna’s upcoming film Bangarraju released Laddunda, a number that has the actor crooning to its foot-tapping music. The film’s director Kalyan Krishna tells us it was his idea to ask Nag to render the number, which was recorded a fortnight ago.

“I needed someone perceived to always have a positive attitude, and who else than Nag sir himself?” shares the director, reminding that Nagarjuna had sung a number in the prequel to Bangarraju — the 2016-romance-drama Soggade Chinni Nayana.

“I needed energetic and unique vocals to lift the mood of the occasion. There’s spunk in Nag sir’s voice, which combines these two qualities.” Of course, when Kalyan Krishna approached Nag with the idea, he welcomed it. Kalyan is currently shooting the socio-fantasy drama, which also stars Naga Chaitanya, in Mysore. “The film is an ideal sequel to the first one; it’s more fun, and intriguing,” he adds.
