Anikha Surendran, who has been enthralling Tamil and Malayalam audiences with her captivating performances, is now set to woo Telugu cinema-goers. She is making her Tollywood debut with the film Butta Bomma, directed by Shouree Chandrashekhar T Ramesh.

The film is an adaptation of Malayalam film Kapela. The director says he saw Anikha’s performance in the Tamil web series Queen and decided to cast her.

“Producer Naga Vamsi garu too felt she would be apt for the part,” Shouree adds.
“We wanted an actress who has a naïve, child-like look, and we could see that innocence in her. Moreover, she’s a performer and working with her for this film has been a great experience,” says the director.

Butta Bomma is set in a village in Araku. Anikha plays an aspiring singer, and the film is about the changes the teenage girl witnesses in her life. “We adapted the story to suit the ethnicity,” Shouree reveals.
