So far, Telugu audiences have seen Siddharth in vibrant, lover-boy roles. However, all that is seemingly set to change soon.

In a first for him, the Bommarillu star will play a character painted in grey shades for his forthcoming film Maha Samudram. Interestingly, we hear it was this aspect of his role that prompted Siddharth to come on board for the project.

He plays one of the leads in the film, which also has Sharwanand as his co-star.
One of our sources tells us that the film’s director Ajay Bupathi wanted to give Siddharth an image makeover for the sake of his Telugu audiences. And that includes a rugged look for his part.

According to the source, Ajay has penned a strong script. “It is a triangular love story that has a smuggling element set against a Vizag backdrop,” the source shares. “As both are high-energy roles, he wants two performers and handpicked Siddharth for the role with grey shades.”

The film unit has been hoping to rope in Aditi Rao Hydari as a leading lady, but she is yet to sign on the dotted lines
