Ever since the trailer of the forthcoming film Bhanumati Ramakrishna was launched a couple of weeks ago, all eyes are on Salony Luthra.

The Shimla-born and Mumbai-raised actress plays the role of Bhanumati in the Srikanth-Nagothi directorial, which talks about a journey of an independent woman.

“When I heard the script, I could immediately resonate with the character Bhanumati because I am like that in real life too very independent, modern yet rooted to strong cultural values,” Salony states.

The actress further opens up about the emotional arch in her role, which, according to her, makes her character special.

“Bhanumati has her own flaws; she is a child at heart. She commits mistakes, but the beauty of the character is that she’s constantly learning and evolving from her choices in the process of her self-discovery,” explains the Sarabham star about this role. “How she takes up responsibility and tries to be the best version of herself defines her personality.” Working on the project has been a great experience, Salony tells us.

“Srikanth and I had extensive workshops on how my character should be portrayed,” she says. “It helped me bring out the best of the role.”

Salony, who acted in Forbidden, tells us she’s also working on an English film titled, Turned out. “I have been shooting in New York for over a year and have wrapped up my part. I play a girl who is born and raised in New York, with mixed ethnicity.

The story revolves around how she stands up for justice,” she says.
Then talking to us about how she’s trying to pick up Telugu, Salony shares with us how her vocation has opened her up to diversity.

“I am also a theatre artist and have travelled extensively for my shows, which helped me understand various cultures,” she says.
