Sometimes it's amazing to be idle!: Sundeep Kishan
While enjoying his down time Sundeep Kishan talks about the experience of working for his upcoming film, Gully Rowdy
Ever noticed the body language of a youngster doing well in life? There’s a spring in his step and a smile on his face. Sundeep Kishan has these and more.
The actor is currently enjoying a break from work on his film Gully Rowdy. But he hasn’t planned any activity for this downtime.
“I have been working non-stop; after my last film was wrapped up, I started promoting it, and then I straightaway started shooting for this film. So I am deliberately staying home and chilling out. I am feeling so happy about this break; sometimes it’s amazing to be idle, and not do anything, right?” he smiles.
According to the actor, Gully Rowdy has a quirky plotline which is why he was hooked to it from the start. “I play Meesala Raju, a boy who wants to pursue his studies. But since his father and grandfather were rowdies, they wanted him to carry on the tradition. I thought the plot was cool,” shares Sundeep, adding that the script has a lot of humour.
The film’s director G. Nageshwar Reddy did everything to make the film a laugh riot. “In fact, this is my quirkiest role till date. My mannerisms, gestures, antics, my Vizag slang and dry humour in the film trigger laughter,” says the actor.
Sundeep has been known for working on multiple films simultaneously, but he reveals that he isn’t keen to do that anymore. “I made a conscious decision not to multi-task; that’s because in the process of doing so I am missing out on all the fun of being in a character. I feel that’s the most significant aspect of playing any role. So I want to take one step at a time,” he explains.
His role in his last film, A1 Express, required the actor to transform physically and mentally. But in Gully Rowdy, he had to unlearn much of what he learnt in A1 Express. “This role demands spontaneity,” he says, adding, “I love exploring various roles — that’s the beauty of acting.”
The actor says working on different films has been a wholesome experience. “It gave me so much room to perform, and prove that content is king,” asserts Sundeep, who is also bankrolling a film, Vivaha Bhojanambu.
