Jhanvi wasn't offered the role

Brushing aside rumours that the makers of Mahesh Babu’s upcoming film approached Sridevi and Boney Kapoor’s daughter Jhanvi for the lead role, a source from Mahesh Babu’s camp says, “We don’t know how her name came into this. We have never thought about her.”

Initially, the makers signed Parineeti Chopra as the female lead, but because her dates clashed, they roped in Rakul Preet Singh. “We wanted to cast a fresh face initially, so we approached Parineeti and even considered Alia Bhatt, but never Jhanvi,” the source added. The shooting of the movie directed by A.R. Murugadoss is going on at a brisk pace.
