“Tamil cinema has never seen action like this before,” guaranteed the Tamil star and activist Vishal Krishna about his forthcoming film Ayogya, which is set to release this Friday. The action flick features Vishal reinventing the role of the corrupt cop played by Jr NTR  in the Telugu film Temper.

Ranveer Singh was seen in a similar capacity in the Hindi version of the film. “Our variant of the film is very different from the Telugu and Hindi versions. There is no point in redoing a film unless one intends to take its script and characters to a whole new level.” Also to be noted is the rising level of conscientiousness among the South Indian film fraternity. While Mahesh Babu’s forthcoming Telugu movie Maharshi expounds the rights of Andhra farmers, Ayogya probes into the sensitive issue of rape.

“I believe that we, as actors, have a huge responsibility towards society. Issues relevant to the common man must be addressed in films. No, I’m not saying that we should preach in cinema. All I’m saying is, films are an excellent medium to communicate with the masses while entertaining them and therefore, should be used judiciously,”he said.
