The Hindi remake of the Telugu blockbuster F2 is in the pipeline and although Venkatesh, who has played the older protagonist in the film, stands the chance to retain his role from the original in the remake, the younger lead actor, Varun Tej, is, unfortunately, going to be replaced.

This has come as a blow to Tej who was hoping to set foot into Hindi cinema. In a telephonic conversation, the director Anees Bazmi, who is currently in London wrapping up the shoot for his upcoming comedy film Paagalpanti, said, “Now is too early to talk about the cast. However, we won’t be working with the same cast as in the original.”

It is likely that the producer Boney Kapoor’s son will be roped in to play Varun Tej’s role from the original in the Bollywood remake of the film.

Anees Bazmi said, “Boney Kapoor and I go back a long way. I’ve directed successful films for him in the past, like No Entry. We have been planning to collaborate for quite some time now. He recently asked me to remake F2 so I watched the film and I quite honestly loved it! There’s a fair amount of humour in it that can be adapted into the Hindi version of the film!”

However, Anees stressed that the remake will be very different from the original. “We will have to rewrite the entire script keeping the tastes of the Hindi audiences in mind. Pretty much everything, including the cast, is going to change.”
