Chay to turn producer

We had reported that Raj Tarun and director Srinivas Gavireddy of Seethamma Andalu Ramayya Sitralu fame will collaborate for a breezy entertainer.  It looks like the project has now got the required impetus in the form of Naga Chaitanya.

We have reliably learnt that Chay will be bankrolling the romantic entertainer. Apparently, Chay has been thinking of producing a film for a long time. However, his acting commitments, coupled with the lack of a suitable script prevented him from taking a step in that direction so far.

However, the Majili star feels that Srinivas Gavireddy’s script has all the ingredients of a box office money spinner. “Chay believes that Raj Tarun’s project will him give him a great opportunity test the waters in production,” says a source.

It will be interesting to see whether he will supervise the film under his home banner, Annapurna Studios.

“Not many know that Chay has excellent command over production. Having been raised in a film background and having been to the sets of several of his father’s  (Akkineni Nagarjuna) films, Chay has a firm understanding of the nuances of production.

Avika Gor has been finalised as the film’s leading lady.
