On Saturday, award winning playwright Bhanu Bharathi’s Naachni presented by Nishumbita theatre group took the audience on a trip down memory lane at the Apollo Foundation Theatre.

Revolving around rural fairs and the mehfils of the feudal lords in the 1940s and 50s, Naachni is the story of a dancer who passes on a tragic but rich legacy.

The mono-act performed by Sashikala entailed the conversation of a folk dancer with her invisible daughter, and was greatly appreciated by the audience.
