Lavanya Tripathi gives glamour a break

If actress Lavanya Tripathi’s photos from her upcoming film A1 Express are anything to go by, she is the latest in the field who’s undergone a makeover. Lavanya will play the role of a hockey player in A1 Express, a film that’s being directed by Dennis Jeevan Kanukolanu.

However, despite the prep going into the role, the Andala Rakshasi star admits that working in a sports drama is challenging.

“Sports drama are challenging because there’s a lot of preparation that goes into it. But the clinical approach makes me more disciplined. I’ve taken up hockey classes and bike-riding classes. Although I went to college on a two wheeler, driving a bullet is a different proposition,” Lavanya shares.

It also helped Lavanya that her mother is a hockey enthusiast and shared with her a few tips.

“My director also played hockey and I’ve started watching several videos to understand the rules and regulations of the sport. Also, I had to shed a few kilos to stay fit and get the right body language. I also bought a hockey stick at home and have been practicing regularly,” adds the actress.

Then talking about how she hopes that such a substantial role will open several opportunities for her in Tollywood, she adds, “I realised people don’t take glamour seriously; they are more interested in looking at a film in its totality.” The Lacchimdeviki O Lekkundi actress and other crew members are currently undergoing hockey training sessions in Hyderabad.
