At a time when the shelf life of a film has been just reduced to merely a week, Kanulu Kanulanu Dochayante (KKD), which released last Friday, has sprung a surprise.
The Desingh Periyasamy directorial, starring Dulquer Salmaan and Ritu Varma has picked up steam at the box office in its second week. The true-blue romantic thriller has now been added to 65 new theatres in both the Telugu speaking states from Sunday.
“Top exhibitors like Sunil Narang and many others have suggested to me to increase the screens since the film has been getting rave reviews,” explains Kamalakar Reddy who bought the theatrical rights of film in the AP and Telangana.
Admitting that the buzz was on the lower side in the first week, he further adds, “The positive word of mouth, gripping content and some fine performances by the lead actors have done the trick for the film — it’s heading into its second week and is going strong.”
