Bengaluru: One of the most “terrifying” aspects of living in Bengaluru is traffic jams. It is worse if one has to regularly commute through Silk Board, ITPL, Eco-Space and Marathahalli traffic junctions.  Already, the traffic situation has led to a number of jokes and memes.

Now, a 12-minute short film, 'Silk Board, A Traffic Love Story’, looks at the plight of motorists with a humorous love story.

The worst traffic jams on busiest roads of Bengaluru are at the centre of this short film, directed by Santhosh G. He has webbed the traffic scene with a love story between Prakash and Mithila, who accidentally meet each other when their cars are stuck in a traffic jam at the Silk Board Junction. Love blossoms and ends with they getting married and even giving birth to a child!

Though the story is about slow-moving traffic, the director has steered it with a funny backdrop of a marriage proposal being dropped for the simple reason that the protagonist has to take the Silk Board Junction for work every day. Suvin, the actress who portrays the character of Mithila, tells Deccan Chronicle, “We shot the entire film in real traffic. We had commuters at the Silk Board Junction staring at us doing all these gimmicks. Most of them thought we were actually proposing and getting married in traffic. It took a lot of courage for us to be in the middle of traffic and act.”
