Martin Scorsese brings sex, drugs and rock n' roll to TV with debut show Vinyl

Oscar winning director Martin Scorsese's Vinyl, is set in 1970's New York and follows the sex and drug-addled music business

Put the greatest rock 'n' roll front man Mick Jagger, with Hollywood’s legendary film-maker Martin Scorsese and you have a music bonanza at play. Scorsese’s upcoming show ‘Vinyl’ marks the Oscar winning director’s debut on the silver screen. This television show is also his first association with Mick Jagger and his first ever story based on the music scene in the 70’s.

'Vinyl', is set in 1970’s New York and follows the sex and drug-addled music business at the dawn of punk, disco, and hip-hop era. The show is seen through the eyes of a record label president, Richie Finestra, played by Bobby Cannavale, who is trying desperately to save his company. Viewers get an inside look at how the industry cheats artists out of their royalties, cook the books and other classic music industry malfeasance.

The show, starring Olivia Wilde, Ray Romano, James Jagger (Mick Jaggers's son), Max Casella among others airs on Wednesday, 17 February, on Star World Premiere HD.
