Telangana Film Chamber Thanks Balakrishna For Supporting Their Cause
“We are thankful to Balakrishna garu for understanding the difficulties faced by single theatres and for stressing the need for heroes to do more films,” the chamber said in its statement
The Telangana State Film Chamber of Commerce has expressed gratitude to Nandamuri Balakrishna for backing its demand for a percentage-sharing system for theatres. The chamber stated that its appeal is not for special treatment but for a fair and legitimate solution aimed at protecting single-screen theatres across Telangana.
“We are thankful to Balakrishna garu for understanding the difficulties faced by single theatres and for stressing the need for heroes to do more films,” the chamber said in its statement.
Earlier, speaking at an event in Vijayawada, Balakrishna highlighted the need for leading stars to increase the number of films they take up every year to ensure a steady flow of content for theatres.
“It is the collective responsibility of the Telugu film industry to ensure enough films are made to sustain the exhibition sector. It is painful to see theatre owners shutting down properties due to a lack of regular releases. In earlier times, we worked much faster despite limited technology. Today we have advanced tools and techniques, but film production is slowing down,” Balakrishna said.
Meanwhile, the Telangana Chamber is also making efforts to resolve its ongoing differences with producers. Representatives of the exhibitors’ body are currently holding discussions with Megastar Chiranjeevi, hoping to find a way forward.
“A meeting is underway with Chiranjeevi garu, and we are hopeful of a positive outcome,” the chamber added.
