Bollywood actress Tara Sutaria marked a major milestone in her international career after being recognized at the prestigious Women in Cinema Gala during the 2026 Cannes Film Festival.
The exclusive gala dinner, hosted by the Red Sea International Film Foundation, is dedicated to celebrating powerful female voices, creators, directors, and executives who have shaped storytelling globally. This year, the foundation honoured six exceptional women from across Asia, Africa, and the Arab world. Sutaria was recognized for her versatile artistic background spanning music, theatre, and film, alongside fellow global honourees including Kamila Andani, Marie-Clementine Dusabejambo, Aïssa Maïga, Genevieve Nnaji, and Laïla Marrakchi.
Expressing her gratitude at the event, Sutaria said, “It feels very, very special. I’m just so happy, I’m so humbled, I’m so thrilled to be in a room full of women who are so celebrated and skilled, powerful, fabulous, beautiful, intelligent- just everything all at once.” She added that the honor was a beautiful opportunity to celebrate a shared “love for cinema and storytelling.”
Apart from her recognition, the actress turned heads on the global stage with her striking fashion choices. For the gala evening, she wore a custom ivory satin gown by legendary designer Vivienne Westwood, featuring signature draped corsetry, which she paired with exquisite emerald and diamond jewellery by Messika.
The star-studded event also saw Tara Sutaria interacting with Hollywood icon Demi Moore and Emily in Paris actor Lucas Bravo.
On the work front, the actress is set to appear next in the highly anticipated film Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups, directed by Geetu Mohandas.
