Suriya announced that he will begin shooting his new Tamil film with Venky Atluri from May, calling it a “beautiful journey.”

Tamil superstar Suriya, known for collaborating with top Kollywood directors like Mani Ratnam, Gautham Menon, A.R. Murugadoss, K.S. Ravikumar, and Sudha Kongara, has officially announced his next project — this time with popular Telugu filmmaker Venky Atluri. Atluri, who has recently become a favorite among Tamil stars after successful collaborations with Dhanush and Dulquer Salmaan, continues to expand his pan-Indian appeal.

Speaking at the pre-release event of his upcoming film Retro in Hyderabad, Suriya called the new collaboration a "beautiful association" with "beautiful talent." He also spoke about Retro and Nani’s HIT: The Third Case, both set to release on May 1.

Confirming the project, Suriya said, “I have to announce this today. I had to start with Allu Aravind garu; the whole journey started with him. With his blessings, and as you all have been waiting for this announcement, we are associating with Sithara Entertainments, Vamsi, and my dear brother Venky here," he said, shaking hands with the duo on stage.

He added, “This will be my next. After a long time, with this beautiful association and beautiful talent here, I am doing my next Tamil film with Venky. I will be spending a lot of time here in beautiful Hyderabad. From May onwards, we start our next. We need all your love, we need all your blessings. This will be a beautiful journey.”

This marks Suriya’s second major engagement with Telugu cinema, following his critically acclaimed performance in Raktha Charithra directed by Ram Gopal Varma.

Meanwhile, Venky Atluri, who delivered hits like Sir with Dhanush and is gearing up for Lucky Bhaskar with Dulquer Salmaan, is now set to direct the Ghajini star, promising an exciting collaboration for fans across industries.
