SS Rajamouli: Baahubali Was Conceived as One Story
The worldwide release is scheduled for October 31, 2025, coinciding with actor Prabhas’ birthday week.
On the 10th anniversary of Baahubali: The Beginning, director SS Rajamouli and producer Shobu Yarlagadda have officially announced a brand-new theatrical experience — Baahubali: The Epic.
Unlike a re-release of Baahubali: The Beginning (2015) or Baahubali: The Conclusion (2017), this film is a re-cut, remastered, and enhanced version that combines both movies into a single, unified narrative. The worldwide release is scheduled for October 31, 2025, coinciding with actor Prabhas’ birthday week.
The recently unveiled teaser has already created a stir, with many calling it the most visually stunning version of Baahubali yet. Industry buzz suggests that while the film has been restructured with improved visual effects and sound design, some fresh scenes may also be included, although the makers have not confirmed this.
Explaining his vision, Rajamouli said, “Both Baahubali films were conceived to be one story, but it was too big to fit into one film. For the 10th anniversary, I didn’t want to give audiences what they had already seen. I wanted to create a new experience.”
Baahubali: The Epic will be released in premium formats like IMAX, 4DX, D-BOX, EPIQ, and Dolby Cinema, aiming to bring back the grandeur of the franchise on a truly global scale.
The massive success of the two-part Baahubali franchise also reshaped the Telugu film industry, sparking a wave of sequels and franchise-building. Following its path, films like Pushpa: The Rule, Karthikeya 2, and upcoming projects such as Devara 2, Hari Hara Veera Mallu, and Kingdom are part of this trend.
