Saumya Tandon on Sharing the Screen Space With Akshaye Khanna in the Movie Dhurandhar

Recently, Saumya Tandon, who is playing the role of Akshaye Khanna's wife in the movie Dhurandhar, spoke about her experience of working with the seasoned actor and how comfortingly easy their on-screen chemistry was. Saumya says, "We rarely interacted during off-camera time, but as soon as the camera started rolling, a connection clicked in no time."

Talking about their collaboration, Saumya revealed that there was hardly any time to bond outside the shoot schedule. However, that limitation never impacted their performance. “I didn’t even have time to interact with Akshaye, but I really feel that we shared great chemistry. Somehow, just through our eyes, there was so much camaraderie between the two of us,” she said, adding that working with Akshaye felt natural and organic. According to her, his experience and focus elevated every scene. “I didn’t have to work hard to build that connection because he’s such a seasoned actor. He is completely present in the moment,” she explained.

Recalling one of their most intense scenes together, Saumya spoke about the film's powerful introduction sequence, which included a slap. "Initially, I was trying to cheat during the slap scene," she confessed in an interaction with Mid-Day. However, director Aditya asked her to do it genuinely. When she asked Akshaye if she should go ahead and do it, all he said was, "Go for it."

Though she felt awful for slapping him, Saumya said she trusted the moment and conducted the scene honestly- which turned out to be one of the most impactful moments in the film.
