Her love for dance drew her to learn the art, which eventually led her to movies. But soon, television embraced her and she got busy with multiple teleserials in other languages too including Kannada. Actress Anusha Rai, is back with yet another exciting venture titled Rajakumari for Kasturi channel, which is produced by Mrs Anitha Kumaraswamy.

That apart, the actress is playing vital roles in movies too including Damayanti wherein she shares screen space with Radhika Kumaraswamy. Anusha speaks with Bengaluru Chronicle about her latest ventures, and her role of a princess for which she rides a bike, and more.

“Rajakumari is my fifth televenture, after I started my small screen career with Annaiah, which was again made by the same team. In between, I did Vani Rani in Tamil, Arthashastram in Telugu and featured in Nagakannike, a Kannada serial. In Rajakumari, I play a bold character who is a devotee of Lord Hanuman. I carry his idol all the time with me, and even when I am riding a two-wheeler. It depicts my character’s belief in the God. It’s a family entertainer with lots of exciting twists and turns which I am enjoying thoroughly as an artiste,” says Anusha.

In the movie Karshanam, an action suspense thriller which recently released to positive reviews, Anushaplayed the role of a journalist. Further, in her upcoming venture titled BMW, she is a college student and in the most expected horror venture Damayanti, she shares the screen space with the talented Radhika Kumaraswamy.

“The movie Damayanti starring Radhika madam is one of the most ‘horrifying’ roles and it has already created enough buzz in the industry. The first look from this movie have become a rage, and it was a great learning experience for me to be a part of it. I cannot reveal much about my character, but there will be a sequence where in I will be seen in a special get up as Nagavalli,” she adds.

About her debut, Anusha reveals that when she was in the process of learning dancing, she was approached for the movie Mahanubhavaru, and thereafter the opportunity to work in Annaiah serial came her way.

“I was pursuing my engineering degree from Acharya Institute of Engineering. I would manage both acting and as well studies. I finally completed my degree recently following which I even got a job placement in a leading private company, but with my prior commitments and interests towards acting held me back in the industry,” she says while wrapping up that auditions held in Bengaluru for other language serials paved way for her Tamil and Telugu ventures.
